Always

Just one word was legible on the old ribbon in the Erika I'm restoring: "Always."

  1. Always check your ribbon for secret messages from fellow typewriter insurgents

  2. Nice to find something on an old ribbon. To me, it is like finding old film in an old camera, processing it and hopefully printing the photos. I doubt I'll ever get my Erika restored--needs a few type slugs. Neat color though.

  3. Creates a mystery, but also a clue to it's unknown past. If only our writers could tell us their stories!

  4. Once I found these words permanently inked onto the rubber platen of a white Olympia SM5: "love you mum". I imagined a grateful daughter typing those first words to thank her mum and to try out the machine but without putting in a sheet of paper first.
